Construction on Kyle Field began in 1927, and its current form goes back to a rudimentary established building from 19904. The stadium, which opened on September 24, 1927, was constructed using a concrete and steel design that helped make it the first of its kind in America at the time, with seating only about 32,890. Since the stadium had several major renovations and expansions that expanded its capacity, it also added modernized facilities.

Significant renovations and expansions took place in 1953, 1967, 1980, and 2000. It underwent a massively expansive redevelopment project from mid-2014 to late 2015, making it not only the largest stadium in the Southeastern Conference at this point but also across America. The renovation added over 20,000 seats.
